What makes it work

Inside the file

  • Mimic chest: a friendly chest with iron bands and a gold lock, then eyes, a tongue and teeth.
  • Dragon egg: wobbles, cracks and hatches; the shell ends up as a hat.
  • Ship in a bottle: the sea is two layers, so the ship sails through the waves.
  • Bonsai: one indexed sprite, four seasons from one palette_variants export.
  • Cozy room: an isometric room with rain, a flickering lamp, steam and a sleeping cat.

How it was built

Step by step

  1. The planEach sprite designed in code, labelled 'The plan' on screen.
  2. BuildOne sprite_patch per step; after every step every frame was exported and compared with the design.

Read from each file's own record (SpriteRelay's file summary of the final .aseprite where one was taken).

How it was checked

  • Every step matches the design (at most 2/255 off, on semi-transparent pixels).
  • The bonsai's seasons are every pixel of the base recoloured by palette index.

Do this with your own sprites

Every build here was made through SpriteRelay CLI.

Your assistant inspects, patches, previews and exports real .aseprite files, and nothing reaches your project until you commit.
